This site was developed to provide personnel-related information to classified (non-teaching) employees, applicants and other interested viewers.

As a strategic partner with the District, the Office of Classified Personnel is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining services and systems to effectively recruit, select, and retain qualified employees for the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District. Classified Personnel seeks to provide our clients with a range of professional quality services in a timely and efficient manner.

This office fulfills the responsibility by planning and implementing functions related to recruitment, selection, classification, compensation, and disciplinary-appeal hearings in accordance with Personnel Commission Rules based on the Merit System Principles and Education Code. Department functions also include maintaining the seniority list and transfers.
