The Coordinate Plane
-
The X and Y axis intersect at right angles at the origin dividing a plane into 4 quadrants.
When you set up a coordinate plane, use a ruler. Remember to label each axis with X or Y, label the origin and label each quadrant.
The coordinates of a point locate the point for you on the coordinate plane (x,y). Label the point with its name and/or the coordinates of the point.
