Celebración de Comunidad: Fall Festival & Día de los Muertos at Edison
Each year, as October fades into November, Edison Language Academy comes alive with vibrant tradition and joyful gathering at our annual Fall Festival and Día de los Muertos celebration. It’s a beloved event that brings together current and former families for an unforgettable evening honoring culture, memory, and community.
Inside the cafeteria, a breathtaking display of student-created altars honors loved ones and beloved pets who have passed. The room glows with candlelight, colorful papel picado, and the rich scent of pan de muerto and marigolds. Photographs and heartfelt offerings sit alongside intricate artwork, inviting reflection, reverence, and storytelling.
Outside, the energy shifts to celebration. Children decorate sugar skulls, bounce houses ring with laughter, and live performances fill the air with the rhythms of Latin music and dance. Families gather over bowls of pozole, plates of tamales, and cups of sweet horchata, creating moments that linger long after the evening ends.
More than a festival, it’s a powerful expression of who we are—a school community rooted in tradition, united in joy, and connected across generations.
