Principal Ipiña's Message

  • Dear Edison Families,

We are so very excited to begin the 2025-26 school year! We have over 300 families returning and about 100 new families joining us eager to be a part of our Edison Family. Yes, I did say Edison Family because truly, that is what happens when you come to Edison - you become part of our family. We will learn together and from each other, play and celebrate together, eat and cook together, support each other through challenging times, and do it all as our saying goes: Juntos A Través de Dos Idiomas (Together Through Two Languages). Don't worry if you are not bilingual, we will facilitate communication, and you will begin to learn words in the other language, just as your child is becoming bilingual and crossing the language divide.

As we embark on the journey of this new school year together, I want to acknowledge that some of our community may feel unsafe in our country right now. First, I want to reassure everyone that Edison (and SMMUSD) is a safe place and that we will do everything in our power to protect our families and students. We value everyone in our community and will continue to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in our school. We know that our families don't come to our school simply because they live in the neighborhood, but because they sought out this unique education for their child, and we are committed to ensuring that every family and child feels welcome and celebrated.

I look forward to getting to know our new families, and deepening relationships with our returning families. I look forward to seeing our students grow and thrive. I look forward to coming together as a community in support of one another and building bridges and beautiful memories together.

Thank you in advance for all your support. We couldn't do it without you!

    VAMOS AGUILAS ... ¡A VOLAR!

    Yours truly,
    Directora Ipiña
