    EURYDICE

In EURYDICE, Sarah Ruhl reimagines the classic myth of Orpheus through the eyes of its heroine and the use of contemporary characters. Dying too young on her wedding day, Eurydice must journey to the underworld, where she reunites with her father and struggles to remember her lost love. The play is a fresh look at a timeless love story.

In our production, the actors will be wearing classic theatrical masks. The tradition of theatre masks goes back to the ancient Greeks who used masks both for practical needs and dramatic heft. Wearing theatrical masks meets our practical need to wear masks due to Covid, and adds a unique dramatic effect to this ancient story told with a modern twist.
