Spanish I P
This beginning course provides the student with the means to communicate effectively in Spanish in the present tense through listening, speaking, reading and writing. In addition, it provides exposure to the global Spanish-speaking cultures.Spanish II P
This course continues to develop understanding of the Spanish language and the cultures that speak Spanish. This course focuses on the development of conversational proficiency that includes the mastery of the underlying grammatical structures for the present and past tenses. Students continue to build on the four basic language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
PREREQUISITE: Grade of C or better in Spanish ISpanish III P
This course guides students toward formal communications in reading, writing and speaking while building on Spanish II proficiency. In addition to expanding conversational skills for various audiences and mastering in-depth grammatical structures, this course prepares students for the advanced study of Spanish in the 4th and 5th (Advanced Placement) years.
PREREQUISITE: Grade of C or better in Spanish II or readiness exam for native speakersSpanish IV P
This advanced course concludes the formal study of grammatical structures and begins the reading and interpretation of literature. Students continue to improve their proficiency in speaking and formal writing in Spanish. Students strengthen the skills they will need to continue with Advanced Placement Spanish.
PREREQUISITE: Grade of C or better in Spanish III or readiness exam for native speakers.Spanish V AP
The Advanced Placement Spanish Language course is a composition and conversation course that continues to develop students' communicative abilities in Spanish. Grammar is reviewed. Course prepares students for the AP exam that is taken in May.
PREREQUISITE: Grade of B or better in Spanish IV or readiness test for native speakers.French I P

French II is a course in French language and French culture. It is predominantly a study of grammar and conversation that builds on the foundation of information learned in French I.
PREREQUISITE: Grade of C or better in French I.French III P
This course is designed to guide students toward formal communications in reading, writing and speaking. In addition to expanding conversational skills for various audiences and mastering in-depth grammatical structures, this course prepares the student for advanced study of French in the 4th year.
PREREQUISITE: Grade of C or better in French II.French IV P
French IV is a course in French language and Francophone culture. It is a continued study of grammar and conversation that builds on all information learned in French I, II, and III. This class concludes the formal study of grammatical structures and continues to develop skills in reading and interpretation of literature. In addition, students continue to learn how to write formally in French.
PREREQUISITE: Grade of C or better in French IIIFrench V AP
The Advanced Placement French Language course seeks to develop language skills that can be used in various activities and disciplines. Training in the organization and writing of compositions is also emphasized. This course prepares students for the AP exam that is taken in May.
PREREQUISITE: Grade of B or better in French IV.
