2022-23 School Year
REGISTRATION/DATA CONFIRMATION is now available to complete in AERIES Parent Portal.
Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year!
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE:
Dear Malibu High Students and Families,
Malibu High welcomes YOU to the 2022-2023 school year! Students, it is almost time to get ready as school starts on Thursday, August 18th, at 8:30am. Enjoy these final weeks of summer while getting excited to begin a wonderful new school year. We are looking forward to an exciting and productive year!
We ask that you log-in to your Aeries Parent Portal and complete the 2022-2023 Data Confirmation process as soon as possible. It contains information and forms that need to be submitted prior to Get Your Stuff Day.
High school GYSD is on Thursday, August 11th, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. GYSD is your opportunity to get your stuff (ie: school picture, school ID, schedule, PE clothes, parking permit) so you are prepared for the first days of school.
It is an exciting time at Malibu High. MHS is a special place and thanks to the combined efforts of students, parents, community, teachers and staff, we will continue to do great work in 2022-2023. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, August 18th, before 8:30am! I am excited for the 2022-2023 school year and look forward to getting to know all of our families, supporting all of our students, and celebrating lots of successes throughout the year.
If, for any reason, your child will NOT be attending Malibu High School, please email Beth Soloway, Registrar, at bsoloway@smmusd.org immediately so we can plan our class configurations and placements accurately.
Have a wonderful last few weeks of summer!
Patrick Miller
Principal, Malibu High School
COMPLETE IMPORTANT REGISTRATION/DATA CONFIRMATION PROCESS NOW:
NEW PROCESS: Malibu High and our District have worked to make the Data Confirmation process easy for you and your student through Aeries Parent Portal in place of our previous process. We have many important documents and plenty of information for your family within the online registration site, accessed via your Aeries Parent Portal. Note: You must complete data confirmation for each student.
ACTION NEEDED: Log in to your aeries parent portal. It is very important that you complete the annual Back to School/Registration process anytime between now and August 11, 2022! Please be sure to read, review, and discuss all the materials with your student. We also need to gather information from you for emergency contacts and health documents. You may decide to print some of the documents for future reference. For a tutorial on how to complete this process, please click HERE.
GET YOUR STUFF DAY IS AUG. 11TH:

SCHOOL PICTURES ORDER FORM/IDENTIFICATION CARD: Get Your Stuff Day is also School Picture Day! NUTRITION SERVICES: New meal applications need to be completed annually (one per family). We ask all families to complete this application regardless of plans to eat school meals or income level. For more information, visit: https://www.smmusd.org/Page/4083.
TRANSPORTATION/BUS PASSES: Renewing riders should have received a renewal application in the mail from the District Office. District staff will be at Malibu High School for GYSD to take your application and payment. Applications for new riders and bus information is available online and will be available at GYSD. There are a limited number of passes that will be sold for some bus routes. Passes will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. To learn more, click HERE.
UNOFFICIAL CLASS SCHEDULES: During GYSD, students can pick up their unofficial 2022- 2023 class schedule. This is an unofficial schedule that is subject to change before the start of school. Students’ parents must complete the Data Confirmation process before students receive their draft schedule.
SCHEDULE NOT AVAILABLE: There are a few reasons why a student may not receive a schedule at Get Your Stuff Day. The student may owe books or financial obligations from last year, is a new student who has not yet met with his or her counselor, is in grade 9-12 and does not have the TDaP immunization documented, or is an Independent Study Program (ISP) student who will work with the ISP teacher to develop a schedule. We ask all students to immediately return or pay for all library and textbooks belonging to Malibu High as we must have them for the start of the school year. If you need a current immunization, please take care of this and come to school with your documentation on or before Get Your Stuff Day.
