Special Education

  • The Special Education department offers core classes at all grade levels in language arts, mathematics and science to Resource and Special Day Class students. Classes are multi-grade and multi-subject. Curriculum may be modified to meet student needs.

    Special Day Class Study Skills
    SDC Study Skills is strongly recommended and usually required for SDC students who need small group one-on-one assistance and support academically and/or help with their organization and executive functioning skills.

    Resource Study Skills 9
    This study skills class is specifically designed to help 9th grade RSP students as they transition into high school.

    Resource Study Skills 10
    DESCRIPTION: This study skills class is specifically designed to help 10th grade RSP students continue to develop study habits and skills that increase the likelihood of setting and achieving realistic academic goals for their high school career.

    Resource Study Skills 11
    This class is designed to move students toward independent study habits and to develop self-advocacy skills necessary for transitioning into general education.

    Resource Study Skills 12
    This class is designed to move students toward independent study habits and to master self-advocacy skills necessary for transitioning into college and work settings.

    Reading Improvement
    This course is specifically designed to provide targeted reading instruction to struggling readers through a focused intensive approach.
