Dear Malibu Middle School and Malibu High School Families,

We hope all of you are planning on joining us Thursday night, March 14th, at our annual Open House! This year's Open House will be a relaxed event with a chance for students, parents and staff to connect! Come visit with friends, neighbors, and school staff! Open House is a chance for students to share their classrooms and work with you.  It is a fun, informal, positive night where families move as they please, visiting current classrooms, past classrooms, catch up with friends etc. There will not be a formal program. And, it is not a time for individual student conferencing.

Where will I find my student’s teachers?:
Most teachers will be in their own classrooms. However, some staff may be grouped near their classrooms by MMS grade level cores around the A/B/E buildings or MHS Staff by department teams around the K/G/P buildings. A map is provided below.

Below are some FAQs
Is Thursday a minimum day? Yes, we will be on a minimum day schedule.  That means we start at 8:30(MHS)/8:40(MMS) but students are dismissed early at 1:35 so we can prepare the rooms and campus for this evening's event. Please do not arrive prior to 1:35 for pick up.  
 
Is this Open House for both Malibu Middle and Malibu High?  Yes, we decided to combine Malibu High School's Open House for students in grades 9-12 and Malibu Middle School for students in grades 6-8 this year largely because of shared staff and shared families.  May 9th will still be a minimum day dismissal, but there will not be a second or separate event. 
 
Should students attend?  Can my neighbor attend?  Can I bring Grandma? Yes, yes, and yes. Open House is a chance for everyone to visit our school. Current students, current families, alumni students, alumni families, prospective parents, community members are all welcome!
 
What is the schedule? Is there a formal meeting? Open House is relaxed and casual. There is NO formal presentation. The community/school/student club fair will run from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Classroom visits will occur from 5:00-7:00.
 
Where do I park? Parking options include: Football field lot, Pool lot, Morning View street parking, and the Morning View Lots (closed until 4:30 to allow staff parking), Please consider carpooling if possible.
