The Board of Education adopted the Treatment of Historical Resources Policy (BP & AR 7113.01) at their Feb. 9, 2021 meeting. SMMUSD is one of the first school Districts to approve and implement a historic-resources policy. The school board directed the review of the facility by historic resources consultants to determine potential historic resources.

Historic resources are assessed prior to development as part of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) reviews. The board policy directed staff to engage historic resources consultants prior to CEQA analysis.

Historic Resources Reports

These reports identify facilities that would potentially be considered eligible for listing under the National Register of Historic Places, California Register of Historical Resources, or City of Santa Monica Designated Historic Resources
