SUMMER INFORMATION: 

SUMMER OFFICE HOURS: Malibu Middle School is open during the summer break, Monday-Thursday from 9:00am-2:00pm, Friday 9:00-12:00. There is a limited number of office staff working in the summer months to assist with summer school, to enroll new students, to assist students and parents, and to plan for the opening of the new school year. The MMS/MHS office will be closed July 28 – August 1. Please note, our Registrar will not be on site from July 3rd through August 4th. You can find information about registering HERE.

SUMMER SCHOOL INFORMATION: Summer school is scheduled from June 23 through July 25 from 8:30-12:45. MHS/MMS will offer Credit Recovery (for all students making up a D or F semester grade) (Mrs. Martinez and Mrs. Lipetz) and "Get ahead" Geometry (Ms. Seikali) on campus this summer for high school students. SUMMER CHROMEBOOK CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Please read the attached Summer Chromebook Care Instructions. Only grade 8 students and students not returning to MMS next year need to return their Chromebook.  All others will keep their school devices during the summer. These instructions are important to ensure your device continues to function and is not damaged. Students/families are responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged Chromebooks.

SMMUSD DISTRICT CALENDAR: The district calendar is available online. Please note start of school, end of school, and all holidays. Please plan vacations and absences of a personal nature around the school/district calendar. Daily attendance at school is extremely important. https://www.smmusd.org/domain/148

PLANNING FOR 2025-2026: As we begin planning for the 2025-2026 school year, please let Mrs. Soloway know about any planned changes. If you have moved or will be changing addresses, please contact Mrs. Soloway to ensure we have a current mailing address for any important information sent home during the summer. Additionally, if you are planning on moving or will be attending a new school in the fall, please email Mrs. Soloway. Mrs. Soloway can be contacted at bsoloway@smmusd.org.

SCHOOL LOCAL!: There are lots of great things happening at Malibu Middle School! If you have neighbors, colleagues, relatives interested in enrolling at MMS for the 2025-2026 school year, please tell them to contact Mrs. Soloway at bsoloway@smmusd.org. Enrollment is happening now for the Fall! MMS residents are encouraged to contact our school office to enroll for next school year. Non-MMS residents should complete the interdistrict permit application available online at https://www.smmusd.org/Permits.

BACK TO SCHOOL INFORMATION/GET YOUR STUFF DAY: Keep an eye out for the Back to School Summer Email in August which will include lots of key dates and information. All families will need to complete the annual data confirmation registration process between July 28 and August 14. Get Your Stuff Day is planned for Thursday, August 14

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL: School resumes Thursday, August 21, 2025.
