September 2024
Dear Franklin Families,
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year. My name is Eran Zeevi, School Principal at Franklin Elementary. This is my third year as Principal at Franklin, and I feel so fortunate to be part of this extraordinary school community. Franklin Elementary truly believes in the whole child valuing a rigorous learning trajectory for all students, but just as equally valuing students’ self-esteem, perspective, and worth. Our overall theme at Franklin is “You Matter”, assuring that all stakeholders are valued, heard, and attended to. We are also intentional about connecting students to at least three safe adults on campus who will support them and their needs both inside and outside the classroom. Franklin is also in the process of developing into a Service School, where each grade level will have a specific focus on what service area they will attend to (ie- environment, climate, animals, etc.) At Franklin, we value relationships above all, with students, parents, staff members, and the schoolwide community.
Our PTA leaders and members are continuously working at providing exceptional opportunities for our students. From assemblies to field trips, book fairs, move-a-thon event, back to school picnic, movie night, annual camp out, library events, Bike It Walk It, and so much more. The PTA has worked alongside the administration to really promote community throughout the school year. We have many parent volunteer opportunities, and encourage parents to get involved as much as possible. We know that parent and community involvement along with engagement and consistent attendance will prepare young people to be responsible, successful and caring citizens.
I would like to welcome some new team members that you should get familiar with. Vidya Madiraju has joined our front office as a Senior Office Specialist. Her warm and friendly disposition to all is genuine and caring. We also have a new Administrative Assistant, Melissa Elswick, who will be starting on October 1st. Melissa comes with great experience of managing an office and balancing the role with great efficiency. She is really excited to be part of our Franklin team. Lastly, I would like to welcome our new Assistant Principal, Alix Pickett. Ms. Pickett comes with over 15 years of administrative experience and will be a remarkable asset to our school community. She believes wholeheartedly in relationships, and exemplifies true leadership qualities. Please welcome our newest staff members with open arms.
Our doors are always open to our community for questions, concerns, feedback, and more. We like to work in partnership with our parents to make sure our students feel supported by one full team. We ask our parents to get involved and show support for all students, as there is a tremendous amount of volunteer opportunities provided. I look forward to an exciting year together, as we ensure that each and every student receives the best well-rounded education in order to become a capable, confident, and curious lifelong learner. What we want for all children- Belonging, Curiosity, and Empowerment.
Proud Principal,
Eran Zeevi
