  • Boys and Girls Club of Malibu After-School Child Care Program
    Grades: TK to 5th Grade

    Hours of Operation:
    Monday-Thursday: 1:40pm – 6:30pm
    Fridays: 1:15pm – 6:30pm

    Boys & Girls Club of Malibu (BGCM) offers a vast range of important and influential tools, life skills, and programs providing a fun, safe, and inclusive environment. Every child has the opportunity to benefit from our team of Youth Development Professionals and the exciting & enriching after-school programs we offer.

    Other available programs:

    Instrumental and Vocal Music Specialists
    The school district provides a choice of instrumental music lessons or chorus for every 4th and 5th grade student in two 40-minute weekly sessions. Third grade classes are given one 40-minute vocal music lesson each week. They also learn to play the recorder.

    Intervention Classes
    Students falling below grade level in reading are offered special classes during school and summer classes to help them meet grade level standards.

    District Nurse and Health Office Assistant
    Our school nurse provides vision and hearing screenings and is on call for emergencies or other special circumstances.  Our Health Office Assistant is here two days per week to attend to students with minor injuries and illnesses.  Our office staff are trained in both First Aid and CPR.

    District Psychologist
    Psychological testing and evaluation are available upon teacher recommendation and parental request.

    Physical Education
    Every 1st-5th grade class attends physical education classes for 125 minutes per week with our Physical Activities Specialist.  The program teaches developmentally appropriate skills and places an emphasis on fostering sportsmanship and physical fitness.

    Specialized Academic Instruction Program
    Students may qualify for Special Education support based on Federal and State guidelines.  Services are provided in accordance with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).  Students may also qualify for other Special Education services, such as Adaptive P.E., Occupational Therapy, and Counseling.

    Speech and Language
    Students who qualify for this Special Education program are served by a specially trained teacher who works with the classroom teacher to meet each child’s individual needs.
