Welcome to Roosevelt!

  • Dear Roosevelt Families,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year at Roosevelt Elementary! I am thrilled to begin another year of learning, growth, and collaboration with all of you. Our dedicated and compassionate staff are committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment where every child can thrive, and where families are valued partners in our shared work. Together, we will continue to build a strong, respectful school community centered on the success of every student.

This summer brought some exciting changes to our campus. In June, construction began on the new Roosevelt Elementary School Library and our Early Childhood Learning Building. The new library will provide students with access to modern resources and technologies designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. The Early Childhood Learning Building will create a warm, nurturing space for our transitional kindergarten and kindergarten students—giving our youngest learners the perfect environment to grow, explore, and thrive.

We will keep you informed as progress continues. You can follow the development of Roosevelt’s facility improvement plans by visiting our website, where updates and photos will be shared throughout the year.

As the first day approaches, I know new teachers, classmates, and routines can feel both exciting and a bit overwhelming for students. Your enthusiasm and encouragement at home can make a big difference—sharing in their excitement, asking about their day, and supporting their routines helps set a positive tone for the year.

Family involvement continues to be one of the most powerful ways to strengthen our school. Whether volunteering in classrooms, lending a hand in the Big Yard, helping in the library or cafeteria, joining the PTA, or attending our events, your participation enriches our community and directly supports student success.

I also want to highlight the importance of regular attendance. Being at school every day, on time, builds consistency, fosters a sense of belonging, and supports academic growth. Thank you for partnering with us in prioritizing attendance.

At Roosevelt, we believe every child is a unique learner with incredible potential. We are committed to creating an environment where each student feels visible, voiced, valued, and fully supported. This year, we will continue to focus on our four signature practices—culturally relevant read-alouds, identity work, restorative practices, and holding space—as the heart of our work to ensure an inclusive and equitable educational experience for all students.

As we embark on this new year together, please know my door is always open. I am here to listen, support, and collaborate with you to make this year meaningful and memorable for your child.

Stay connected and informed by visiting our school and district website, social-media pages, and subscribing to our school’s Teddy Times Newsletter (published by our wonderful PTA).
