The Smash/Muir Water Intrusion Project represents a comprehensive campus-wide endeavor aimed at revitalizing and enriching our educational infrastructure. This initiative involves a complete revamp of roofing systems, stucco, windows, doors, and flooring, alongside substantial structural enhancements. A crucial component of this renovation is ensuring that all classrooms and restrooms meet Americans with Disabilities Act compliance standards, integrating a range of additional improvements. We're pleased to announce that Buildings A, B, C, and D have received Division of the State Architect (DSA) approval, with Construction Change Directives submitted for each building awaiting further review and approval by the DSA.

An essential goal of this project is to guarantee the comprehensive waterproofing and sealing of the entire campus. This entails meticulous care to uphold the integrity of building envelopes, ensuring that all structures are impermeable to water infiltration and environmentally sound. This precaution is crucial for the durability of campus buildings and the safety and well-being of its occupants.

The goal is to finish the project in preparation for the fall 2025 academic session, providing students with a revitalized, secure, and cutting-edge educational setting.

Project Progress:

A. The ongoing process of removing exterior stucco throughout the entire campus is underway.

B. Progress is being made on the layout, saw cutting, and demolition required for the installation of new structural footings in all buildings.

C. The ongoing processes involve excavating and removing the old structural footings for all buildings.

D. The rebar installation is scheduled to begin the week of April 22, 2024.

F. Removal of exterior Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning units is also in progress.

Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding during the construction process.
