Holi Celebration during Jogathon
Back by popular demand!!! The DEIA committee of the PTA, alongside our administration, has helped us organize our third annual Holi celebration, which will occur on Friday, 3/21, during the Jogathon. Holi is a cultural festival welcoming the beginning of Spring and is celebrated in India and many parts of Asia. The festival represents new beginnings, and good triumphing over evil. It is celebrated by throwing colorful powder and dancing.
Each Jogathon classroom grouping will celebrate on the big yard prior to their run by dancing with Aakansha Maheshwari from BollyPop and throwing color powder in the air. The color powder is made from non-toxic, gluten-free, and environmentally safe ingredients made in the USA and is FD&C approved. The powder should brush off and wash out of clothing in the laundry. The students will be wearing their T-shirts provided by Grant for the Jogathon this day, but you may also wish to pack an extra T-shirt if your child would like to change. We will explain the significance of Holi in our classrooms the week prior to the festival so our Geckos will know what to expect.
Please let your teacher know if you prefer for your child not to participate in this Holi celebration.
