Attendance Credit:

Students should expect to spend as much time on independent study assignments as they would for in-person learning. Attendance credit is awarded based on the teacher’s determination of the combined time value of the work and the student's participation in synchronous instruction. In order to maintain enrollment/participation in the Independent Study Program, the student:

Grades 9-12:

  • Must complete the assigned courses utilizing a program delivered online (Subject.com) via synchronous (minimum of 2 live sessions weekly) and asynchronous instruction (minimum of 5 assignments daily).
  • Must earn “attendance credit” for 90% of equivalent days over a 4-week period, based on work completion and attendance at live sessions.
  • Must attend a minimum of 2 live sessions (via zoom or in person) weekly.  Missing more than 4 sessions a month may result in removal from the program.
  • May not fall below the level of satisfactory progress as determined by the teacher.
  • Must attend mid-term and final exams, in person.
  • Must maintain academic honesty.  Each student's course grade must reflect his/her own work and knowledge.
