ELOP

Impact
The California Department of Education has allocated over 4 billion dollars to enhance the expanded learning experiences for TK-6th Grade students. This means your services outside of the school day are bigger, better, stronger and longer than before!

SMMUSD offers Expanded Learning over 225+ days per year, which means before school, after school, summer, and intersession learning programs that focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of students through hands-on, engaging learning experiences.
DISRUPTION BY DESIGN - when rooted in purpose and equity, is a catalyst for transformation.

Grow your own solutions

In SMMUSD’s ELOP, disruption means challenging outdated structures, reimagining what learning looks like beyond the bell, and creating new pathways where student curiosity and community voice lead the way. Positive disruption requires agility, deep listening, bold partnerships, and a willingness to put students’ lived experiences at the center. It’s how we move from status quo to something extraordinary—where every student gets to move, make, and matter.
