Welcome to SMMUSD Child Development Services. To begin the application process you must submit an application in order to be eligible for enrollment consideration.

SCHOOL AGE PROGRAMS (SAP) APPLICATION*
*Applications for the 2026/2028 school year will be accepted after January 1, 2027. Any applications sent prior to 1/1/27 will not be accepted.

The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District (SMMUSD) School Age programs are available for students in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten at Franklin Elementary, Grant Elementary, McKinley Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary, and OPSH. At Edison Language Academy and Will Rogers Learning Community our programs serve TK through 1st grade Right at School (RAS) will support 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at Franklin, Grant, McKinley, and OPSH. RAS will also support 2nd and 3rd grade at Edison and Will Rogers. The Boys and Girls Club Of Santa Monica (SMBGC) will support 1st - 3rd grade at Roosevelt. 

School Age Programs supports morning care for all TK – 5^th grade students in Santa Monica elementary schools.

Email is the preferred way to submit the application. If you would like to hand-deliver it, please visit 2828 4th Street. Someone is in the office from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Once we have received your application, your child/children’s name will be placed on a waitlist for that site. If a space becomes available, you will be contacted by our office staff and asked to complete enrollment paperwork. At that time, eligibility for financial assistance will be calculated. You will not be contacted prior to this as we are only enrolling students when space becomes available.
