Check Your Students' Grades & Assignments Online with Pinnacle

What is Pinnacle?
Pinnacle is an electronic rollbook used by all teachers to calculate student grades.  The rollbook can be accessed by Administrators and Student Advisors for early intervention.  NOW it is available to parents and students.  Grades are available in real time - as soon as a teacher inputs the assignment, it becomes available via the Parent Internet Viewer.

How do I use it?
Contact your students' advisor for obtaining a private PIN CODE and follow the step by step directions below:

Step by step directions for accessing student grades:

1. Go to our school website:  www.samohi.smmusd.org
2. Click on the tab labeled:  "Parents", then "Student Grade Access"
3. Go to "Click Here to Begin."
4. In the pop up window, enter Student ID Number (available from your student or progress report) and PIN Code (available from your student's Homeroom Teacher -2nd Period)
5. Click "Login"
6. Choose a Class
7. Choose a Report
8. Click Get Report

Most informative reports:

1. Class Information:  General information for parents to contact teachers
2. Class Grade Reports:  Individual Student Report for selected class with assignments, due dates and categories, as well as, current grade.
3. Report Card:  Current grade for all classes in which the student is registered (both letter and numeric percentage)
4. Class Missing Grades:  List of all assignments in selected class which are missing, not those in which he student received a zero (0).

Codes for student grades:
Z = student did not submit the assignment, it is calculated as a zero (0) in their final grade.
X = student is exempt from the assignment, and the assignment not calculated in their final grade.

Que significa Pinnacle?
Pinnacle es el programa de recursos usado por los maestros para calcular las calificaciones de los estudiantes. Las calificaciones del estudiante pueden ser adquiridas por el estudiante y padres de familia al momento que el maestro actualice las calificaciones. Al mismo tiempo la administración y los consejeros estudiantiles tienen acceso al programa Pinnacle para poder intervenir y ayudar al estudiante que padece de problemas academicos.

Para poder ingresar al programa Pinnacle desde su computadora, debe de obtener un codigo personal. El codigo puede ser adquerido con el consejero del estudiante.

Instruciones:

1. Acceda la pagina de internet: www.samohi.smmusd.org
2. En el Menú de padres titulado ÒParentsÓ, seleccione el boton ÒStudent Grade AccessÓ
3. En la pajina de Pinnacle, oprima el boton ÒClick Here to BeginÓ
4. Ingrese el numero de indentificasion del estudiante bajo ÒStudent IDÓ
5. Ingrese el codigo personal bajo ÒPIN CodeÓ
6. Asegure que la escuela ÒSanta Monica High SchoolÓ este seleccionada bajo ÒSchoolÓ
7. Oprima el boton ÒRequest ReportÓ
8. Seleccione la materia de interes bajo ÒSelect a ClassÓ
9. Seleccione el tipo de reporte bajo ÒSelect a ReportÓ
10. Seleccione el Semestre bajo ÒSelect a Marking PeriodÓ
11. Oprima el boton ÒRequest ReportÓ

Reportes Disponibles:

1. Class Information: Reporte de informacion general. El reporte incluye el nombre de la materia, el periodo y el nombre del maestro.
2. Class Grade Reports: Reporte de calificasiones por materia. El reporte da una lista de tareas y examenes con fechas de entrega y calificaciones. El reporte tambien incluye la calificacion de la materia.
3. Report Card: Boleta de calificaciones
4. Class Missing Grades: Reporte de tareas y examenes ausentes, donde el estudiante no ha entregado la materia.

Claves de Calificaciones
Z : El estudiante no entego la tarea o examen cuyo sera calculado como cero.
X: El estudiante esta exento del trabajo o examen.
