1. Welcome - The meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM by PTSA President Elizabeth Stearns.

2. Treasurer Report – Deb Mulvaney presented budget and asked for a motion to approve. Laurie Lieberman made a motion and it was seconded by Shari Davis.

3. Annual Giving – Elizabeth stressed the importance of participation by all families in fundraising for Samohi and the goal of 100% participation. She explained once again that teachers have identified technology as their #1 issue, and that the annual giving program this year goes to pay for hardware in the classroom.

• Also announced the need to sell tickets for the Steve Lopez program on December 10th and
• Coffee with the Principal date November 25
  

4. Principal Report –

• Talked about Pep Rally not being an example of model behavior.
• Pointed out volunteer effort resulting in amazing Samohi signage.
• School clean up day is scheduled in February
• Math – there is a focus on new text books, performance and new technology.

5. Math dept presentation- Mr. Tipper and the math teachers gave a thorough presentation

• Talked about Math Pathways from 7th and 8th grade into high school
• Demonstrated advantages of technology in the classroom
• Talked about statistics and pre calc and calc options
