World-renowned, Local artist creates liquid glass with Cabrillo elementary students

Juan Cabrillo Elementary School will host internationally acclaimed artist, Brad Howe, on February 16, 2011, 8:30-10:00am.

This special assembly is called “Liquid Glass” and will culminate an extraordinary school project that brings art and science together.

The collaboration of Howe will be together with all Juan Cabrillo K-5 students and teachers.  The materials used will be bendable wire together with elasticized paint creating transparent organic shapes. Howe, known for his exuberant and playful mobiles similar to the style of Calder, will use the student’s work to build an abstract and kinetic mobile creation that, when completed, will be on permanent display at the school.

For additional event information, please contact Juan Cabrillo Elementary School, 30237 Morning View Drive, Malibu; 310.457.0360, ext. 60130 or 60131.
