SAMOHI S.A.G.E. STUDENTS FLEX THEIR CIVIC MUSCLES WITH ASSEMBLYWOMAN BROWNLEY – NOV. 19

On Thursday, November 19, Assemblywoman Julia Brownley will visit Santa Monica High School to attend “Flex Your Civic Muscles,” an open forum to discuss education, environmental issues, and how students can become better involved in their communities. The forum will be held by Santa Monica High School SAGE (Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship) students.

This event will be sponsored by Santa Monica High School/SAGE Student Chapter of the League of Woman’s Voters. Participants will include students from government, marine biology, entrepreneurship, and Team Marine classes. The goal is to bring awareness to environmental issues, and students will be able to voice comments and concerns during the question and answer section of the forum.

The open forum will begin at 2:15pm in the Humanities Center at Santa Monica High School. Guests, including members of the media, are welcome to attend the event (please sign in with security at the gate entrances).

The mission of the SAGE program is to help create the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders whose innovations and social enterprises address the major unmet needs of our global community. The Samohi SAGE team won third place overall in the SAGE USA 2009 Tournament and first place in the environmental category.
