SMMUSD Personnel Commission Appoints New Chair – Mrs. Pam Brady
At the
December 2, 2008, regular Personnel Commission meeting, Mrs. Pam Brady was
elected as the new chair of the Personnel Commission for the Santa
Monica-Malibu Unified School District.
Mrs.
Brady has served as a Personnel Commissioner for six years, and she has been an active proponent of the merit
system.
Being a
respected and proven educational advocate with extensive experience, she was
elected in 1990 to the District Board of Education serving twelve years as a
Board member. Mrs. Brady is currently
serving as the president of the California State PTA. She was installed as the PTA President by Mr.
Jack O’Connell, the Superintendent of Public Instruction, at the Annual PTA
Convention in 2007. Also, Mrs. Brady
works as a Community Mobilization Manager for the American Cancer Society. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration. Mrs. Brady was
recognized as Woman of the Year by the YMCA and the California State
Assembly. She has been a longtime
resident of
Mrs. Brady expressed her desire to deepen collaborative relationships with the community, the District, the Board of Education, and SEIU in order to maintain excellence in education in our schools and access and opportunity for all our students and employees.
