High Performing Governance Teams Retreat August 29th at District
Office
The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified
School District Board of Education will be holding a Board and Superintendent
Retreat on Wednesday, August 29th, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the
district office: 1651 16th St., Santa Monica, CA.
This will be the first of three retreats addressing High Performance Governance Teams in preparation for the 2007/08 school year. The topics to be discussed include best practices of governance teams, agenda planning, roles and responsibilities of the board and superintendent, the 2007/2008 board agenda planning calendar, and the Superintendent’s performance targets.
The scheduled dates for these retreats are August 29, 2007,
September 4, 2007, and October 1, 2007.
James R. Brown – an education consultant for SpringBoard
Schools, an author, and a retired Superintendent – will facilitate the
retreats.
