SMMUSD Board of Education
Workshop: Literacy Programs and Intervention
The Santa
Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board of Education will be holding a
public workshop on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, from 4:00pm – 6:00pm in the
District Office boardroom.
This study
session is intended to inform the Board of Education regarding districtwide
efforts to improve literacy. The
session will include: 1) a review of the achievement data, 2) the K-8
standards-based core curriculum, 3) supplemental and intervention programs and
services, 4) promising practices, challenges, and innovative practices for
differentiated instruction, and 5) recommendations.
Ms. Maureen Bradford (Director of Assessment, Research, and
Evaluation), Ms. Peggy Harris (Director of Curriculum), and Ms. Cindy Kratzer
(Literacy Coordinator) from the Educational Services Department will address
the Board of Education regarding this study.
