The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Announces Lincoln Middle School Principal

The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District (SMMUSD) is proud to announce the selection of Tristan Komlos as principal of Lincoln Middle School.  Ms. Komlos has been with the District for the past two years, serving as M House Principal at Santa Monica High School.  Tritan has over twelve years of educational experience and her extensive knowledge, along with her exceptional communication skills make her an invaluable, exceptionally well liked, and highly effective leader. “Tristan has proven that she is able to plan, develop and implement instructional objectives and District initiatives,” said Tim Walker, Interim Superintendent. As a House leader and a member of Samohi Committee for Redesign Efficacy (SCORE), Ms. Komlos has been instrumental in the documented successes of the redesign at Samohi.  Some of Tristan’s accomplishments include, the restructuring of the Freshman Seminar curriculum, coordinating and managing the administration of California Standardized Testing and Reporting, and participating in a UCLA Principal’s Center training to improve student achievement through teacher observation and feedback.

We are very pleased to welcome her to this new position.  We expect the 2006-2007 school year at Lincoln, and throughout the District, to hold many exciting learning opportunities for our staff and students.
