SUPPORTS TRICK-OR-TREAT FOR UNICEF

The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District is continuing its participation in the "Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF" program. While we are trying to help our children cope with the tragedy of September 11, this is a time to provide them with a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference. By carrying the traditional orange UNICEF collection box, children in Santa Monica and Malibu raise money to help children in need worldwide and in the process learn the important role they can play in helping each other.

In prior years, schools such as Franklin Elementary, Grant Elementary, John Muir Elementary, Will Rogers Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary and Webster Elementary have won awards for their enthusiastic participation in the program. Teachers have been able to expand the learning opportunities to the classroom where students learn about the challenges facing their global peers through math, geography, science, social studies and history. Santa Monica and Malibu public schools join the City of Santa Monica in its support of "Trick-Or-Treat for UNICEF."
