BOARD OF EDUCATION SEEKS DESIGN TEAM

FOR DISTRICT’S STRATEGIC PLAN

The Board of Education is seeking eight organized, creative, communicative individuals who are committed to improving our schools to serve on a Design Team charged with creating a Strategic Plan for the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District. Applicants must commit to serve for one year.

A strategic plan is less a plan, and more a process of ensuring an organization’s long term future - in this case, the future of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District. The plan’s primary goal will be to improve student achievement.

The Design Team will represent stakeholder groups including students, parents, local governmental agencies, school district employees and members of the community-at-large.

The deadline for submitting applications is September 10, 2001. Applications are available on the District’s web site. Click on "I want to know about" and select "Strategic Plan." You may also obtain applications at neighborhood schools and local libraries.
