The District Curriculum Council is to act as an advisory group on curriculum matters in order to ensure equity and access.
The Council will also make recommendations to the Superintendent and Board of Education after thoroughly researching and discussing each issue and its potential impact on student achievement.
The Curriculum Council is not a decision making committee.
The Curriculum Council offers an opportunity to improve our curriculum quality by bringing alignment and coherence to our practices and expectations.
Curriculum matters may include:
- learning objectives;
- curriculum guides;
- instructional materials and programs; and
- assessments and other methods to evaluate student learning.
Curriculum Council priorities will reflect our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and Superintendent/Board goals.
