Head Start Program

Head Start / California State Preschool Program

• COST: Free for families that meet income eligibility guidelines
• WHO: 3 and 4-year olds born on or before December 2 whose parents are working and/or going to school
• WHEN: 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
• HOW: Parents should complete a pre-enrollment application and bring the last 12 months of income verification to Child Development Services (tax return, pay stubs, TANF payments, child support, etc.). Parents should also bring the child’s birth certificate to verify age, their health insurance card, and utility ill to verify residency in the county.
• WHERE: Edison, Grant, McKinley, Muir, Pine Street, Will Rogers* and Washington West*
  
  

*Extended childcare is available for the Head Start classes at Will Rogers and Washington West and the California State Preschool Programs at John Adams and Washington West. Parents need to be working and/or going to school full time.
