What is Pinnacle?
Pinnacle is an electronic rollbook used by all teachers to calculate student grades. The rollbook can be accessed by Administrators and Student Advisors for early intervention. It is also available to parents and students. Grades are available in real time - as soon as a teacher inputs the assignment, it becomes available via the Parent Internet Viewer.

How do I use it?
Contact your students' advisor for obtaining a private PIN CODE and follow the step by step directions below
or
if your child is a continuing student, their PIN CODE is printed on all their report cards.
*** You will remain logged in to Pinnacle unless you hit the "Logout" link in the top right corner.

Step by step directions for accessing student
grades:
- Click on "Student Grade Access"
- In the drop down menu, make sure that "Santa Monica High School is selected.
- Enter Student ID Number (available from your student or progress report) and PIN Code - also available from your student's progress report or Homeroom Teacher -2nd Period
- Click "Logon"
- Under "Class Reports", choose a Class and a Marking Period
- Choose a Get a Report

Most informative reports:
- Class Information: General
information for parents to contact teachers
- Class Grade Reports: Individual
Student Report for selected class with assignments, due dates and
categories, as well as, current grade.
- Class Missing Grades: List of all
assignments in selected class which are missing, not those in which he
student received a zero (0).

Codes for student grades:
Z = student did not submit the assignment, it
is calculated as a zero (0) in their final grade.
X = student is exempt from the assignment,
and the assignment not calculated in their final grade.
