Courses sponsored by the Regional Occupational Program (ROP) add a new dimension to learning “hands-on” in addition to “eyes-on”, assist students with making informed choices about college majors, help build personal portfolios for college and scholarship applications; students learn real world skills; and in some classes, participate in an internship.

Several ROP courses receive UC “A-G” application approval. ROP student leadership activities include the state and national award winning DECA teams, the internationally recognized SAGE team and participation as ROP Student Ambassadors.
Sponsored by the California Department of Education through the Los Angeles County Office of Education, Santa Monica-Malibu ROP is part of a statewide program designed to bring education and business together, working towards the common goal of educating California's for today's workforce.
