Child Development Services offers both preschool programs and school-age child care programs throughout Santa Monica. We welcome the opportunity to work with children who have special needs and their parents to determine how we can support every child's successful participation in our programs.
Preschool: The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District offers an extended day preschool experience for 6.5 hours a day for 3 to 5 year old children through the Head Start and State Preschool programs. Families enrolled in this program need to meet income criteria and live, work or attend school in the SMMUSD attendance area.
Teen Parent: The SAMOHI Infant/Toddler Center (ITC) is committed to providing the young children of SAMOHI families with an exceptional, quality, child care program. School-age parents with young children from birth to three years of age receive warm and responsive center-based care on the high school campus during the district calendar school year. For more information, please call 310-399-5865, extension 519.
Teen Centers: Offered at John Adams Middle School and Lincoln Middle School, the Teen Centers provide safe, supervised and interesting activities for sixth through eighth graders. Everyday after school the Teen Centers offer students a relaxed atmosphere where they can socialize, have a snack, and get homework done.
Infant & Family Support Program: Through parent and child programs in local parks and schools, community special events and health insurance application assistance, IFSP serves as a hub for families with young children as they progress through infancy and toddlerhood toward a successful transition to preschool.
