Webster Elementary Principal Patrick MillerSMMUSD Announces New Webster Elementary School Principal

The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board of Education approved the appointment of Patrick Miller as the new principal of Webster Elementary School in Malibu, at its regular July 19, 2017 meeting. His appointment is effective immediately. Miller has been the assistant principal at Malibu High School since June 2015, where he was responsible for the middle school program including activities, scheduling, social - emotional programs, special education, school to home communications, implementation of the Olweus bullying prevention program, discipline and served as the test coordinator and school liaison for the MHS modernization project. JAMS Assistant Principal Martha ChaconSMMUSD Announces New JAMS Assistant Principal

The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board of Education approved the appointment of Martha Chacon as the new assistant principal of John Adams Middle School, at its regular July 19, 2017 meeting. Her appointment is effective immediately. Chacon has served as a chemistry teacher at Santa Monica High School since 2005, where she taught and developed curricula for all levels of chemistry, including Advanced Placement chemistry. She has also taught AVID and Freshman Seminar during her time at Samohi. Read More >

Free and Reduced-Price Meals for SMMUSD Students Notification: School Year 2017-18

Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District announced its policy to serve nutritious meals every school day under the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and/or Afterschool Snack Program. Effective July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018, children are eligible for free or reduced-price meals if the household income is less than or equal to the federal guidelines. Read More >

NAMM 2017 Music AwardSMMUSD's Music Education Program Receives National Recognition

Santa Monica and Malibu named a Best Community for Music
The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District has been honored with the "Best Communities for Music Education " designation from the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. SMMUSD joins 526 districts across the country in receiving the prestigious award in 2017, and is one of only two districts in Los Angeles County to be recognized. Read More>
